Turning Point
The gold rush was a very interesting time period. It all started with a man named James W. Marshall in California James discovered gold at sutter's mill on January 24. The guys he was with was shocked when he first told them he found it because this was the first time something like this every happened. At first few people heard of the new discovery because nobody believed it. But when the residents of California started going to the fields to search for gold and few of them got lucky and found it. The word quickly got out to everybody and before you knew it people from all over were traveling to California. It started with the people that live in the eastern part of the world. The gold rush caused many things but the most important topics to me were Transportation improving and also immigration and mining.
This is why i believe so strongly that the Gold Rush was a turning point and a intricite part of the USA improving. The transportation improved because people were so desperate to get to California search for gold they were trying to find which ever way they had to. So trains improved people made them stronger and better for long distance traveling also ships. Immigration improved because the people in different countries wanted the chance to find gold so they were doing whatever to get to California. Mining was improving because once people got in the fields they needed to find and come up with easier ways to find gold faster. These things improved the USA because before when people wanted to transport things it took months and now since trains improved the process was much easy and convienet .And mining was made easier with the new techniques they came up with so people wouldn't have to be in the fields all day.
All these things made the gold rush important and a turning point. Not only did it help the people that were apart of the gold rush but they helped the whole country of the USA.
